'Round Dance' draws on spiritual and ritual connections across cultures. The figurative paintings depict dancers whose abstract bodies blend into the background, reflecting the transient yet vital essence of existence.
 
Reflecting on Round Dance in Tulips #8, I see some changes within the series, particularly in its composition and technique. In this painting I brought the figures closer to the viewer, their gestures and expressions more intimate, inviting a direct connection. Unlike previous works where the dancers blend into the background, these figures emerge vividly from the dark canvas, defined by their individuality. 
 
As a visual artist with deep roots in dance and performance, my approach to the “Round Dance” series is profoundly informed by my experiences. The gestures and poses in Round Dance in Tulips #8 are intimately familiar to my body, shaped by years of collaboration in contemporary dance rituals. Listening to Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring during the painting process helped anchor the rhythmic and emotional truths embodied in the dancers.
